Tax Exemptions and Non Profit Groups

Tax Exemptions and Non Profit Groups

Non-Profit-Organization_largeGenerally speaking, the only non profit entities that are exempt from paying property taxes are churchs. Only a few other types of non profit organizations share the same exemption status, those typically being education, health & crown corp type organizations.

Note, Just because your non profit entity may be eligible for a Property Tax exemption doesn’t mean you’ll get an Education Tax exemption.

To see if your organization is exempt from paying property & or educations taxes, check the Government of Manitoba website: https://web2.gov.mb.ca/laws/statutes/ccsm/m226e.php
